Eighth week on the farm

To start this new week at the farm, the Sherman family welcomed a new Helpx. Her name is Ayane. She is 27 years old and of Japanese origin. She has already come into the family to help last year, from May to July. Then she took English classes on Galway and wanted to come back to the family for a month. In life, she writes books for teenagers.

So on Monday I worked with her, since LP was supposed to work with Sean on the farm. I was able to get to know her better. And above all it allowed me to speak English with a new person. Thanks to her, I was able to see the different progress I had made since my arrival.

This week, I mostly continued to paint the house that Helen inherited. We have finished all the first coats on the walls and all the ceilings are now finished. We were able to put the second layer in the three bathrooms of the house, since she wants to leave them blank. However, in the other rooms, she wants to put the color "Magnolia" in all her houses, whether it is our apartment, her house,... it is this color in the main rooms. So we started to put the first layer of this color in the house. But it is true that painting all week is a little boring and annoying.

Friday evening, we went to see a theatre show, where Sean, the father, and Moira, the daughter, played. It was a kind of musical comedy, which lasted three hours. It was really nice to see a show and customs in another country. We had a very good time. We also had a good laugh, since Sean was playing a King who was transformed into a rabbit after a bad spell. It was quite comical.

The week has once again passed quickly, it is now time to enjoy the weekend.
