The first week at the farm is over, rather half a week, since we worked from Wednesday to Friday, or three days.

These first three days of work have been quite quiet.

January 16, 2018 : For the first day, in the morning, we repaired the access road to the farm. With the many vehicles and tractors, the road was very damaged and there were many holes. In the afternoon, we left with a friend of Maira's, she needed help to remove Christmas lights from her home and do a little gardening. It was quite formative for me, it was the first time I gardened and seen such a beautiful garden.

January 17, 2018 : For this second day, it was a day dedicated to gardening, but this time in our family's garden. They have a very large garden however it is rather badly maintained, we spent the whole day removing weeds, cutting trees, removing dead leaves,...

January 18, 2018: It was our first day on the farm. We were able to meet the different animals present on the farm: cows, sheep, dogs, but also small puppies. However, the task was a little less glamorous, we had to pick up all the mud and the various elements on the ground within the farm. With time these last few months(pas compris), it was very dirty and the farm needed a good winter cleaning. It was a physical job but also a very formative one, thanks to Shean who accompanied us.

The results of this first week were good, the family is nice, even if we haven't met Helen and John yet, the tasks to do were interesting and formative and we are now on WEEK-END for two days.

Tomorrow we will visit a town near us, Portelaoise and Sunday will probably be resting. We are exhausted, it takes time to get used to the farm environment.
