Kildare is famous for being the birthplace of Saint Brigitte (451-525), patron saint of Ireland. She was born in Kildare in 451, then dedicated her life to Christianity. She then founded the first mixed convent in the city, welcoming monks and nuns. Very quickly, Sainte Brigitte's actions made her a leading figure in the city, which gradually extended around the convent.Even now, the Saint is a high figure in the city of Kildare.

Kildare is a picturesque little Irish town, located in the province of Leinster, and more precisely, in County Kildare. Contrary to appearances, the city is not the capital of the county, as it is Naas, but it offers superb places to discover. Located not far from Dublin, Kildare is often considered as a suburb of the Dublin metropolitan area, and thus benefits from a strong cultural dynamism.

It is particularly appreciated for its horse racing events, and its horse racing at the Curragh Horse Racing Course.

We spent a day in Kildare. In the morning, we visited the city and the castle. It's a small town but it's nice. In the afternoon, we went to Kildare Village, it is a village with many brand name shops at low prices and some restaurants. It was very interesting to do some shopping and especially very beautiful.

The day in Kildare was pleasant, despite the bad weather that continues.
