Located in the southwest of Ireland, Limerick is the third largest city in Ireland. It has a population of more than 50,000 inhabitants. Limerick is one of the former working-class cities that are now experiencing economic growth. In the past it was a city that had a poor and sad image. Today, the city is taking on a new image, which makes it a dynamic and cultural city. The people of Limerick are warm and welcoming, and the streets are pleasant to walk through. We spent a whole weekend in Limerick.
There are many monuments to see, I will quote you some of them that we have been able to contemplate :

- King John's Castle is an important castle built in the centre of the city and on the banks of the Shannon River. Every year, the fortress welcomes thousands of visitors who come to discover the medieval times of the Irish era. The visit is not free and lasts about 1h30.
- Saint Munchin's Church, is located in the heart of old Limerick. Still in operation, this parish has a main tower topped by 4 pinnacles.
- the Hunt Museum, is a museum of art and antiquity. It is renowned for the richness of its collection, the museum presents objects of great value, ranging from the Neolithic to the 20th century. It is one of the largest museums in Ireland...
- St Mary's Cathedral, is the city's main religious building. It was built in honour of the Virgin Mary, and is currently considered as the oldest building in the city, and welcomes hundreds of faithful every week to celebrate religious events.
- The Milk Market, is a food market located on Mungret Street. Despite its name, the market has diversified over the years since its initial focus and now sells a wide variety of food products, many of them are produced locally.

We spent the night in a hotel near downtown Limerick, the Woodfield Hotel. We also ate and enjoyed different beers on site. There is a restaurant and a bar. It is a hotel that I recommend, with reasonable prices, a perfect price/quality ratio and very correct services. I recommend this hotel for a stay in Limerick.
