Nenagh is really a city for all seasons. There are not many Irish cities in the provinces for which you can honestly say that a weekend is not long enough, but Nenagh is perfect.

Nenagh was originally a market town and its name is Irish. Nenagh is a booming commercial city.

Nenagh is located on the banks of the Nenagh River which flows into the Lough Derg in Dromineer (nine kilometres to the northwest), a popular centre for sailing and water sports.

There are many interesting places to visit in and around Nenagh. The Nenagh Heritage Centre is located in two Georgian stone buildings that were built in 1840-1842 as the Governor's Palace and Governor's House. It is located a few steps from downtown Nenagh. Nenagh Castle has been beautifully restored and is now open to visitors. Climbing the 100 steps to the top for a panoramic view of the surroundings. Keeper Hill is the highest mountain in the Silvermines region and the 117th highest in Ireland. Keeper Hill is the northernmost peak in the Silvermines region and also the most westernmost.

You have several beautiful places to see in Nenagh:

- First of all, as mentioned above, Nenagh Castle, which is free and worth a visit.

- Nenagh Heritage Museum, this museum is a former prison that housed thousands of prisoners until its closure in 1887. It's a very rewarding visit.

- St. Mary of the Rosary Church is one of the most beautiful churches in the country. It was first proposed as a cathedral church in the diocese of Killaloe by Michael Flannery. The church is open to visitors and followers. It is as beautiful from the outside as it is from the inside.
